Rainy Day Music: Bright Eyes Edition

I thought I already posted this, but my tags tell me otherwise, so here it is: "Lua" by Bright Eyes, the only Bright Eyes song I still like:

  1. Ever listen to Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band? I saw them in concert (having only heard "First Day of my Life" before) and it was awesome. I still visit their first album regularily. I haven't really listened to Bright Eyes but from what I understand/what I've heard, his stuff with MVB is less whiny, more rock, and more country.

One of my fav's is "NYC, Gone Gone" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xe82Mkl51I ), though its not really typical of the album. "Sausalito" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ndeTIkOi9Y) is good too and more consistent with the album sound.

  2. Oh, and though it may be "typical" (as per your fb post) it is spot on rainy day music. You have a lot of rainy day posts - is Van really as rainy as they say?

    1. Both tracks are sweet. I especially like how short "NYC" is 'cause I can listen to it over and over again. I might have to check out the MVB's entire album now.

Personally, I don't find Van particularly rainy. Yeah, it rains for a while sometimes, but even NS has its wet-spells.
